Anyway, it's that time of year again. Actually it has been for several weeks, but there you go.

I caught this one nibbling the rosebushes. I'm a bit concerned about that, actually. I got out for a look around, and they've been at the underbrush more than the past few years. I'd rather eat them than watch them starve, myself. Time to check the freezer space....

A lot of people would agree with you about the taste, but I like it. It is involved in metabolizing toxins (and... about everything else, actually), but a healthy liver is very nutritious.

Some of the deer in the area are in better shape than others. I always inspect things before I eat them, let alone consider feeding them to anyone else.
