Ugh.

Not as promising as it could be for the FoH to have sense enough to behave (as much as they do) on Monday....

They started yelling at Jamie, then set the cafe on fire. They'd got the staff out beforehand, which is... well, something, but still.

I think some of them sounded as if they knew Jamie. By name, anyway. I suppose it could have been from the television special. I'd have thought if anybody was a good example that being a mutant doesn't mean behaving badly... well.

Forge, he's right, that was very impressive. And Kitty too.

I'm down in medlab, by the way; Dr. Bartlet told me to sit still for five minutes, but after that I think I'm allowed to help again.

Eh . . . actually, that wasn't from the special. Those were my cousins, the spectacular Struckerson twins. I think I mentioned my Uncle Harvey the writer, right? They're his younger kids, their bitch mother got exclusive custody in the divorce along with damn near everything else, and apparently they've grown up into the kind of well-rounded exemplary human beings you might expect.

Yeah, that's about the size of it. They're . . . maybe a year, a year and a half older than me, so we got thrown together a lot at family reunions when we were little and they were still part of the family. I never really liked them--they were always all about the whole "we're twins, we're special, we don't need anybody else" thing--but I never thought anything like this. But then, I never thought their mom would kick Uncle Harvey out with almost nothing but the clothes on his back and a bill for alimony either.

. . . God, I'm gonna have to call him about this. And Nate. This is gonna kill them.

She's all right. Got a little singed and breathed a little too much smoke, but the docs don't have worry face and they say she'll be fine.

She was really amazing. Phased right into the burning building to make sure nobody was in there. Not that, y'know, I want her to do it all the time, but yeah, between having the crap scared out of me I was really proud.

Probably not, but I'm still going and I'm still makign that bloody speech. Part of the reason why they do so well is that they make people scared, and they have to know they can't scare all of us.
